Proving them right

I have a pet peeve. Well in truth I have many but I will only be discussing one today. The others will have to wait for another time.
I love the opportunity to discuss and debate the merits of an issue and to get to the real point of a disagreement. I like the academic side of politics and getting down to the nuts and bolts of what's going on. I like this forum where we can all come and contribute our opinions and discuss what is best for Duvall and the nation at large.
And now the pet peeve. It bothers me when people use arguments or points to try to get a reaction rather than to honestly discuss the issue at hand. I find it disingenuous that rather than honestly examining he issues we are too often wrapped up in making points or promoting an agenda to actually work on the problem at hand.
We have many issues of great importance that we are facing as a city. Lets work together to find real solutions rather than trying to score cheap political points. The Founding Fathers believed us to be better than that. Let's prove them right.

  3. The most credible theory, I think, it that the attacks on the twin towers and pentagon were allowed to happen by elements of the U.S. government, so that there would be a justification for invasion and more control and profit to U.S. companies from Middle East oil. Some people are also certain that the Twin Towers collapsed due to explosive charges set in the buildings. That seems far fetched to me.

Happy New Year to all! Pinklady

  4. I do not believe either of those theories. There is so much evidence proving both of them false that as far as I am concerned these questions were settled years ago.
    Have a wonderful new year.

  5. Here's the current topic at our New Year's party: What does everyone think of Sting's (Gordon Sumner's) beard? Any votes yea or nay out there? Pinklady

  6. Perhaps we should re-focus on the point of the post.
If you are interested in a stimulating conversation ask your fellow party goers their opinion of the city raising taxes and fees so many times this year. Or perhaps you could start a pool to see how the city will spend the new money they are collecting from Waste Management.
Or you could just enjoy tonight and resolve that tomorrow we will begin to make this a better town for all of us. Let's live up to the hope that the founders had for us.

  10. I would think that Pinklady would at least keep on track a little with the subject matter. It seems that she doesnt want to address the real issue but rather just wants attention.
And I will put my name to it.
