I read a great quote from James Madison today that inspires me to learn and do all I can to be informed. I thought I would share it with you and discuss it a bit.
"A popular Government, without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a prologue to a farce or a tragedy; or perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance: and a people who mean to be their own governors, must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives."
This is the reason that the founders worked so hard to instill in us desire to question our government and to hold their advances at bay. The premise is set up in the Constitution that the government only has the powers the people allow it to have. This needs to be re-taught and instilled in the heart of each citizen. Knowledge is the key to power. Lets hit the books.
