We've come a long way baby! The Constitution was designed to limit the power of the government. It specifically states what the Government can not do: limit your free speech, search without a warrant, make you testify against yourself, unusually punish you, quarter soldiers in your home and many others. The basic belief was that the less the government is involved the better.
Fast forward to today. I look around an see how much the government is involved in your life. Everything from charging more for your garbage pick up to tens of thousands of dollars in fees for the privilege of building in our city. I don't think that one politician or one council is responsible, what I am saying is we are resembling less of what the founders wanted for us. We really have come a long way.
Yeah we have come a long way in the wrong direction! When is it that our representatives will begin to realize that they can't just take what they want?
