Pizza anyone?

I had in interesting meeting tonight with the local pizza delivery person. I had ordered pizza and was told that they would be out in 40 minutes. 30 minutes later I received a call from the driver who was having some trouble finding the house. I talked her through some directions and I asked if it would be helpful if I would stand at the end of the driveway so she could find the house. She was very thankful for the offer and we chatted on the phone until she arrived. While she was getting the pizza out of the car we continued to talk for a minute about how nice it was to live here and how long we had each been in town. While I have only called Duvall home for 6 years she has lived here since the 70's.
I thanked her for delivering my dinner and we parted company. While this may not seem like such a big deal it was just the overall feeling I got. Here was a person I did not know and had never met before and yet through about 3 minutes of conversation on the phone and in person I had made a new friend.
After devouring my 4 pieces of pepperoni pie and swigging my root beer I began to think more about how odd our meeting was. Where else in today's world does the pizza delivery person care about me and my family? Where else do you take the time to be neighborly because it's just what we do here? How often do you stuff yourself with pizza and the best part of your evening was the exchange with the driver?
We really have a great little town here and I am glad to share it with so many of you. It really makes me feel grateful for what we all have and I want to do all I can to keep Duvall the best little place in the world.
Now where is the rest of the pizza?
