Middle of the road

So there seems to be a lot of talk about which side we are on lately.  Are you for this or that; are you against that or this?
I ran across a quote from Tom Anderson given in 1969.  "You must stand up and be counted - else you will be counted out...The middle of the road between good and evil is evil.  When freedom is at stake, your silence is not golden, it's yellow."
We are all responsible to stand up for what we believe.  To stand strong on our principles.  To be guided by our morals.
Our founding fathers knew that if they failed in their quest for freedom they would be put to death.  They had the fortitude of spirit to stand up for what they believed in regardless of the consequences.
Each generation must fight to keep this freedom.  Not always physically fight, but fight for principle, for morality, for principles.
We should pick a side of the road.  Right or left.  But not the middle.  The middle of the road is the playground of the foolish and the patio of the weak.  Stand up and be counted.  Stand up for what what is right.  Stand up and get out of the middle of the road.

  3. Bart,
That's awesome! It makes me want to rent the movie again.

    Thomas,
This makes me think of all of those "interfaith" services that took place today. In the name of peace (unfortunately it's a false peace), many churches across the country hosted interfaith services and invited christians, jews and muslems to pray together. Talk about hanging out in the middle of the road! All of these religions have very serious differences and to get together to pray requires each member to compromise their fundamental beliefs. Pick a side before it's too late, people. And make sure you are on the right side!

  5. Anonymous,
That was a funny clip. Maybe not doctrinally accurate but still funny.
