Hate and Lies

I read the following on Yahoo news today.
"AndrĂ© Carson, a Democratic representative from Indiana and a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, suggested last week that certain members of the tea party in Congress are indistinguishable from violent racists.
"This is the effort that we're seeing of Jim Crow. Some of these folks in Congress right now would love to see us as second-class citizens," Carson said at a caucus event in Miami on Aug. 22. "Some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me ... hanging on a tree."

His spokesman,
Jason Tomcsi, explained the comments by saying "yes, the congressman used strong language because the Tea Party agenda jeopardizes our most vulnerable and leaves them without the ability to improve their economic standing."
All I can say is this is another example of how politicians are willing to do and say anything with no regard for the truth or accuracy of what comes out of their mouth.   This is such an outrageous lie.  It is irresponsible and frankly disgusting that this is acceptable speech from a United States Congressman.
So much for our leaders being an example of the best of who we are.  This type of false, misleading, and disturbing rhetoric shows only one thing.  This congressman is not worthy of the support of the citizens of his district and regardless of which  political party he is a member of, he should resign and take his hate and his lies with him.

  1. I applaud Rep West who is considering leaving the CBC over the disgusting behavior.

"...West sent a letter to Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.), chairman of the CBC, demanding that he denounce comments by Carson and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.). At a town-hall meeting earlier this month, Waters said the Tea Party “can go straight to hell.”

“I believe it is incumbent on you to both condemn these types of hate-filled comments, and to disassociate the Congressional Black Caucus from these types of remarks,” West wrote. “Otherwise, I will have to seriously reconsider my membership within the organization.”

West went on to argue that Carson’s charges against the Tea Party were “racist.”

“Congressman Carson’s desire to generally criticize a large grassroots group as racist is baseless and desperate,” West wrote. “When individuals believe they are defeated in a political disagreement, they normally resort to race-baiting, which in my opinion is in itself racist.”

Good for him! Some in Congress do have integrity and need to be rewarded

  2. Did anyone see the debate last night? The one thought going through my head all night: I want a Perry/Romney ticket (not sure of the order yet). Can you imagine the power of Perry & Romney teamed together? Dems could have supermajorities in both houses and still wouldn't stand a chance. Screw balanced tickets and let's fix this country. Anyone else think the same thing and how do we make this happen?
