Comments on the debate

I read a column today by Gail Collins from the New York Times.  She was a little snarky and was not exactly balanced in her approach to the subject.  But the tone of the article was essentially that Romney was the best candidate except for one thing.  Here is a quote from the article, "And is there something going on with Mitt Romney's hair? The dark part is looking darker and those little white tufts around the ears are getting whiter. It makes his forehead look as if it's levitating."
So the real problem is Romney's hairline?  It really is a sad state when the only thing that a columnist can complain about is a physical feature of a candidate.  So much for intellectual honesty and a logical approach to an argument.  I am so over the typical approach of the media to politics.
Here is a link to the article if you are interested in reading the entire thing.

  1. And for the record, Social Security is a ponzi scheme. The definition of a ponzi scheme is "an investment operation that pays returns to separate investors, not from any actual profit earned by the organization, but from their own money or money paid by subsequent investors." That's exactly how social security works. Yes, it's a ponzi scheme that the American people overwhelming approve of, but it's still a ponzi scheme.

  2. The argument I've heard against it being a ponzi scheme is that ponzi schemes are "...fraudulant investment operations..." and since Social Security is run by the government and the American people overwhelmingly want it, it's not fraudulant. So, Social Security is not a ponzi scheme because it's not a FRAUDULANT investment operationthat that pays returns to separate investors, not from any actual profit earned by the organization, but from their own money or money paid by subsequent investors.
I don't buy that. Social Security is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on the American people and what makes it worse is that we are doing it to ourselves. We are burying our heads in the sand because we all want free money when we are old.
Romney needs to get on board with what Social Security really is and help shake the American people back to our values. Help solve the problem, don't continue the problem.
I want a Perry/Romney ticket too, by the way.

  3. Did anyone see Cain propose a flat tax? He said, if God is happy with only 10% then the government can certainly make due with 9%. ROFL. I love that man!

  4. My 2 cents - Romney and Perry have the best hair out of all politicians since Bill Clinton. So if Gail Collins makes this a campaign based on hair, a Romney/Perry ticket wins hands down.
