Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings compared the NFL to "modern-day slavery." I suppose it will be a complete waste of my time to explain the difference between the situation of those who were actually enslaved and the sweet $40.5 million contract that he currently has. Not only is it a complete and total disregard for the suffering of those who were enslaved but it shows how much of a victims attitude he has. When sports stars complain that playing 16 football games a year and practicing for 7-8 months and getting paid $40million is slavery then what is it that the rest of us are suffering?

Fortunately he is part of a union and has collective bargaining rights. Hopefully the union will be able to save the enslaved players. I, for one, am willing to pay far above the $400 in current ticket prices to take my family to see a 3 hour game if it means that the poor players can be freed from slavery.
