This Thursday at the council meeting the Council will be narrowing down the list of candidates from 4 to 3 candidates. The candidates will be at the meeting and they will have a chance to be introduced. The 4 people willing to step up and volunteer for the open position are:
Lee Anderson
Daniel Predmore
Norma Jean (NJ) Shelsby
Jeff Wolf
As many people as possible should come to the council meeting and meet these candidates. Take the opportunity to thank them for volunteering and take the opportunity to see where they stand. It should be a very informative night.

Interesting that there is a name missing from that list. After all the talk, advice and pontification I really thought that Skylar Hansen would have put his name into the ring. I guess he really is more talk than action.

ReplyDeleteAs I stated in another post, I never thought he would actually run for council. The reason is that he would then have to be held accountable for the things he has done and said.
I can show where he has posted on this blog under several names, where he has lied in published political ads and where he has formed a non profit for the sole purpose of defeating candidates (not supporting anyone just defeating candidates).
He lacks either the ability or the fortitude to take responsibility for his actions and his words. This is why you will never see his name on a ballot. He will do all he can to influence political figures except for put his own name on the ballot.
It is not surprising that he has failed to, once again, back up any of his rhetoric with action.

ReplyDeleteThe reason I blog is because I can not run for office in Duvall. I live outside the city limits and am prohibited from serving on the Council.
I encourage everyone to get involved in the political process. It is a shame that those who have the ability to run for office and such strong opinions on how the city should be run, would rather sit back and tell others how to do it than put their own name on the line.
I am frankly glad Skylar didn't run for office. It shows everyone that he does not really want to help out the city, he just wants to tell other people how they should be doing their jobs.
I think the candidates who put their names into contention for the open seat are far more qualified and far superior candidates than Skylar would be. Duvall will be better off without him on the council.

ReplyDeleteAt the top of this blog is a quote that I believe in. It says "If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace."
I firmly believe that it is my duty to point out and stand against those who act in a manner that is inappropriate, uncivil and without decency. Skylar Hansen has done all these things. I can not in good conscience let this type of behavior happen without saying anything. Can you?

Why hasn't anyone asked which of the 4 candidates made it through the first round of eliminations? And does anyone know them? I know Jeff - he's the owner of Thrive. I think he has good business sense and cares about the community.
