A tip of the hat to Councilmember Okerlander

Had a great time at the tree lighting tonight.  I was impressed that Councilmember Ockerlander called to me through the crowd and intorduced me to her husband, we had a nice chat.
As many of you may know I did not support Councilmember Okerlander's campaign.  We disagree on many points.  I am however impressed that she has always been open and willing to talk about things.  I believe that she genuinely is trying to do what she thinks is the right thing.  If we were all open and willing to talk to each other more I am sure more of our issues would be resolved.
So tonight I tip my hat to her.

  1. This is refreshing to see! Disagreement while maintaining respect and courtesy - something we have forgotten how to do sometime in the last 60 years or so.

  2. How sweet and naive. Worked in politics long, Thom?

  3. Interesting comment. Why do you think the comment is naive?
And to answer your question I have been actively working in politics for about 6 years.

  4. I wonder - could Anonymous be Skylar Hansen dropping in for a visit? It kind of sounds like his tone...

  5. Didn't Hansen actively campaign for Ockerlander? Seems odd that he would make a comment like that? This post didnot get that many comments maybe it is time to move on?
