So in a gesture of good will toward the democrats, I am proposing that we have a job fair for all the soon to be out of work congressman and senators. So here are the ground rules.
1. you must be specific about the candidate you want out of office.
2. you must be specific about the job you want them to have.
3. keep it clean.
So here is my first suggestion.
Harry Reid. Vagabond. It would be good for him to experience the same level of respect that he has given to the American people.
Nancy Pelosi. Nursing home resident. She should enjoy all the perks of Obama Care for as long as possible.
Patty Murray. Boeing CEO. I mean after all she is the only reason Boeing has been able to accomplish anything in the last 18 years...right?
So lets hear it. be creative and have a little fun. It's election day after all.
I think Harry Reid should be craps dealer at the Golden Nugget casino
ReplyDeleteBarbara Boxer - waitress. I want a lifetime of having to call undeserving people ma'am and sir.
ReplyDeleteLisa Murkowski - CBS news intern working for Dan Rather. Oh wait, he lost his job too, didn't he? Isn't he working behind the scenes at MSNBC now?
ReplyDeleteBiden - I know he's not up for re-election, but Obama's going to have to clean house. Might as well start with Biden so he can be a lounge singer at the Golden Nugget with Harry Reid
ReplyDeleteCharlie Crist - used car salesman, need I say more?
ReplyDeleteHow about Joe Biden as the spokesperson for The Villages.
ReplyDeleteBarney Frank = the new Colonel Sanders
ReplyDeleteAl Grayson = motivational speaker that keeps you from living in a van down by the river
In honor of MSNBC just calling the house for the GOP, we need to find Nancy a job. Wicked witch of the west in the off-off-off broadway production of Wizard of Oz now playing at the community center in Chehalis
ReplyDeletePatty Murray as Bill and Melissa Gates' nanny. Bro
ReplyDeleteChristine Gregoire working as a line cook in a homeless shelter. She can see the impact of her decisions first hand... and the homeless get the chance to say thank you in a meaningful way :D
ReplyDeleteAlan Grayson as the new Geico caveman
ReplyDeleteChris Matthews
ReplyDeleteI know, he wasn't elected. But his self appointed sole purpose is to make Obama's presidency a success. You all have to agree with me that Chris Matthews has been an utter failure. Obama has no choice but to fire him as his Chief Success Officer. So, in light of that, I would like to see Chris Matthews get the job of Donald Trump's toupee model.
Patty Murray - sneaker section saleswoman. And soccer section, if she chooses. Doubt she's put on a pair of tennis shoes since she campaigned the first time...what...uh..."18 years ago?" :)
ReplyDeleteNancy Pelosi - zoo keeper. She's done a fairly good job so far w/her party in Congress and, as far as we know, there are no campaigns or elections among the animals at the zoo so she would be forever popular.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the likelihood that a lot of the failed Dems are going to come back as czars in the Administration?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - that's a good question. I'm afraid I distrust the political system enough to believe that former politicians will lay down the reigns of power easily and so I suspect the odds are high that some will find new roles in the administration until things swing towards Democrat again...
ReplyDeleteDoesn't the insanity of it all just make you want to start your own country somewhere and 'do it differently'?
That is an intersting notion and it makes me worry that we have gotten so far away from our founding that we don't even recognize it anymore. Instead of doing it differently I would have to say that I want to go back to where we started. To follow the constitution, to have leaders that only have the country's best interest at heart, and to a congress that could tax.
ReplyDeleteThose were the days, back when coungress did not have the power to collect taxes. I say that a little tongue in cheek but look at the knee jerk response of our elected officials. If there is a problem then we need to tax the people to fix it.
I say we start over...with a healthy reading of the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and maybe even a congress that can't tax.
A congress that can't tax...if only. :)
ReplyDeleteHow about, more realistically, a congress that can't raise taxes? And then they have restraints in the form of lower spending / funding levels (for programs such as NPR) on an incremental basis, perhaps every 2 years the budget is reduced by a certain percentage?
I'm also all for a healthy reading of the Constitution, as well as the Declaration of Independence.
What about the notion that every president must have some military experience? Should that be a requirement?
The idea of requiring military experience for the commander in chief sounds like a good idea. How would you ensure that our government doesn't become a military dictatorship?
ReplyDeleteThe checks and balances between the three branches of government ensures we won't be a military dictatorship. The commander in chief should have military experience, but it's not necessary in the legistlative and judicial branches
ReplyDeleteThomas, after you mentioned Emerald Falcon Printing a week ago someone asked if the River Current News had been sold to new owners. Since you are a reporter I thought you would be able to answer the question. Do you know? Julie
ReplyDeletejust to be clear, which Julie is this?
ReplyDeletejust kidding
As far as I know the River Current News is being sold but I am not 100% sure where it is in the process.
Thanks, Thomas. Sorry I was looking for your reply in the wrong place. Julie
