Chief Harder

It was announced Thursday that former Fire Chief Dave Harder had passed away.  Chief Harder had served the fire district for thirty years until his retirement in 1990.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday Feb 20th at 1 pm at the Duvall Church.  There will be a reception immediately following at the fire station.
He was a pillar of service to the community and will be missed.  He was one of a long line of valiant public servants that make up our local fire fighters.  I would like to offer my condolences to his family and my sincere thanks to him and his family for his lifelong service to us and our community. May God rest his soul.
Please take a moment to thank a fireman the next time you see one.  They deserve all the thanks we can ever offer, and then some.

  1. My condolences to his family and friends. A beautiful tribute was paid to him at the recent Duvall Fire Department Anniversary.

I took my boys to enjoy that community event and quickly realized that almost everyone there had been part of the dept. or had family that was. That's the kind of community we live in: where families work together to build a better future. Thank you Dave Harder!

  2. I moved into town long after Chief Harder retired, and yet it warms my heart to hear how much of an inspiration he was to the community so many years later.
